It's the time of year when the days are getting warmer (ok HOTTER) and summer is around the corner! It's also the time of year for graduation. With my huge family every year someone is graduating it seems from college, high school, 8th grade. Now that we're getting older it's just high schools and college from now on-wow. I considered myself fortunate that both for my college and masters graduation I ended up graduating in the winter-which was nice for my family, especially my grandparents who somehow make it to every single event! I don't know how they do it. Some years they have had to drive up to NY only to turn around the next day and head to DE and then back again to MD to hit up all of the ceremonies and special events. With 27 grandchildren it can get tiring but my grandparents are awesome and have been such a great part of all of our lives-it doesn't even seem like they have 26 other grandchildren because to me, I feel like they attended all of my lacrosse games, all of my events at school, every graduation and special event-and now, they have one more to add to the list-Lilly! It makes me tired just thinking about it! Once the graduations end it's going to be weddings and births-boy how our family has changed-but I love that as much as it's changed it's still the same.
On to the congrats-this year was a big one for my family and while the amount of food is doing a number on my diet-it sure is fun! Congratulations are in order for:
Claire and Colleen-Class of 2011 Maryvale High School
Claire and Colleen are Sororal (hehehe) twins. I used to babysit them back in the day and they have turned into beautiful women! I cannot believe that they will be in college next year-Claire and Colleen best of luck at Maryland next year!!! I know you two will have a blast-enjoy every moment of those 4 years because they will go by even faster than high school.
Megan-Class of 2011 Maryvale High School
Megan is also graduation from Maryvale with the twins. I also used to babysit Megan back in the day and she always was planning our weddings and even made Tommy and I get married for fun when we babysat one night-she must have had a hunch then because 9 years later here we are. Megan-follow your calling-you will be an awesome wedding/party planner and I can just see you 27 years from now helping Lilly and I plan her wedding! :) Best of Luck at JMU.
So even though it's not a graduation-congratulations are still in order to Julia-the youngest cousin and also my goddaughter. Julia will be celebrating her confirmation next week. Congrats Jules! Enjoy your special day!
I had to save the best for last-the one nearest and dearest to my heart. This past Friday my one and only brother, Paul, graduated from Archbishop Curley High School.
What an accomplishment. Paul is such a kind-hearted kid and while hitting the books may not be his thing-he did it and is now ready to go on and do what he loves. Paul-continue on and never give up on your dreams. You will be very successful-I just know it. Never give up and don't ever let anyone tell you that you cannot do something-people who say that are just jealous! Good Luck at CCBC and continuing with Paul's Lawn Business. You rock!
