I never thought I would EVER leave a shopping cart in the middle of a parking lot. This PISSES me off ! I bubble with rage every time I see a rouge cart in the parking spot I wanted. The NERVE of some people. I always do my best when I am out with Lilly to park next to or VERY close to a cart return so I could put the cart back nice and neat without leaving her in the car or having to carry her half way across the parking lot. Well I did it and now I may have a better understanding of why sometimes there is a wandering cart in the parking lot (although some people are just lazy jerks).
I went to Wal-Mart on a Saturday. It was busy and as much as I drove around there were no spots remotely near the cart returns. I found a space pretty far away and carried her to the nearest cart, went in and did my shopping. I got a lot of items so I wheeled the cart to my car, started my car to cool it off and put Lilly in so she wasn't sitting in the hot sun. I unloaded all of my groceries and then took one look around-Crap!!! No cart returns even close and not even a person in sight for me to ask nicely to return it for me (or to pass it off to if they needed a cart). I cannot leave Lilly in a running car -and yes I could have taken her out-stopped the car and wheeled the cart back to the return BUT she was sleeping so soundly. I looked around and then decided the heck with it and quickly got in my car and backed out-I did it!-I left the cart in the parking lot. I was one of THOSE people. I apologize profusely!
It got me thinking though-next time you see one-get peeved- but also think that it could have been a mom who was more concerned about her baby in the car than returning the shopping cart. I know I will from now on. And to all you lazy jerks out there who don't have a child as an excuse-you should be ashamed of yourselves!
