This isn't really a first but she's been holding her head up so well now! Before during Tummy time she would grunt and lift just her head and legs up in the air. Now she's finally figured out how to use those elbows! I propped her up in front of our mirror Saturday night and she entertained herself while we packed for our road trip to VA (another first for Lilly).
Here she is 'reading' while Tommy and I were packing the car on Sunday morning-she really looks like she's reading! I love it!
My mom came over on Saturday to visit Lilly. She had been gone for a little over a week. She was vacationing in Bermuda and Ocean City. She deserved the break but I know she missed her Lilly! She brought us back lovely gifts and Lilly was so excited to see her Grammy Lainey!
On Sunday we road tripped it to Nellysford, VA for Tommy's cousins wedding reception. Not only did Lilly experience her first wedding reception but also her first road trip, first stay in a hotel AND her first 4th of July. I have to say that as easy and laid back as she is I was still nervous to take her on the road. The trip was about 4 hours give or take each way and we were staying in a strange place with no hope of having any sort of schedule. I was amazed at my child. She was wonderful. She just went with the flow and we hardly heard a peep out of her!
The ride down she slept for about 2-3 hours of the trip and for the time she was awake she just played and hung out. I think it helped that Tommy and I were in the back with her. Tommy's parents drove their van (we had to caravan in 3 cars!) so we were able to feed her if needed and entertain her. She was such a trooper. Because we didn't want to uninstall the base to her infant carrier car seat we busted out the convertible Britex seat. She loved it.
We got to the hotel with enough time to grab lunch and relax a bit before heading to the wedding.
It took us about an hour to get to the farm where the reception was being held from our hotel...Lilly enjoyed the beautiful ride!
The wedding reception was outdoors on a beautiful farm. It was HOT. I don't think I have ever been so hot in my life! Lilly didn't make a peep...she was happy and content even though it felt like it was 150 degrees. The reception was fun even in the heat. Tommy's cousin got married in May in Hawaii-we watched the wedding video and it was gorgeous! It was so nice to see some of Tommy's family that we don't see very often and they were able to see Lilly for the first time. Lilly was also able to meet her name-sake! Her great-mom mom Lillian Patricia loved Lillian Grace. I was so happy she was able to meet her and hold her. How special it was! Here are some of the pictures from the party:

Me and my nakey baby!
We got back to the hotel a little late-perhaps because we made a pit stop to take a picture:We dead stopped in the middle of he road so I could hop out and snap this shot. We were hoping to steal the actual sign but we settled for just a picture.
The next morning (Lilly's first 4th of July) we woke up and hit the road-again Lilly was a trooper and slept most of the way and was happy the whole ride home!
We were planning on hitting up the Belair parade and fireworks but neither of those happened. We were so tired! We unpacked and headed to Barbara Ann's for some for dinner-it was nice we didn't have to cook-well no one did since we got Seasons Pizza (my fave).
I got some cute shots of all of the girlies in their 4th of July outfits! How cute are they!
I love love love that everyone is looking at the camera AND smiling!!!
Here are some other shots from our 4th of July pizza party!
Yum! Fingers taste goooood!
I am so glad that this week was a short one! While we had so much fun-we were busy and tired! Luckily Lilly didn't do her usual 2 or 3 am wake up on Sunday night or Monday night! I think she's teething/growing so for the past week she's been waking up for a little snack. I think she must have known her parents needed their sleep! What a good girl-hopefully she's back to sleeping through the night again-although we're lucky she's getting up just once to feed and then going right back to sleep-I've been told that her sleep habbits are NOT normal. Mom's who follow my blog I know you probably want to strangle me though the computer. I promise you I don't expect this for every child we have but for now we are going to enjoy this! And hey she's only 3 months old...she has plently of sleepless nights ahead of her I am sure.
We hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend as much as we did!!
