First let me tell you about my day...
1. Monday-'nuff said
2. Because of closed roads due to flooding/downed trees/power lines my 40 minute commute turned into 90 minutes
3. Didn't get to work early so I showed up to my students hanging out in our office because the rooms were getting painted and I wasn't there to let them know they should do one office at a time so we didn't loose phones-FAIL phones were out until noon.
4. A/C was down at work and because the ventilation system was down the not-so-awesome smell of wing grease was being pumped into my office from Bill Bateman's.
5. Good news is being crazy busy makes for a quick day and was able to leave on time to come home to see my Lilly.
6. Only I didn't check the road closures thinking all would be well by this time-NOPE-roads still closed and took 90 minutes to get home.
Today I felt SO busy yet so unaccomplished at the same time.
Then as I was rocking my sweet baby girl to sleep I look out my bedroom window-a light cool breeze blowing in-and see this...
I wasn't able to get my camera right away so these pictures don't capture the intensity I saw in that moment- but still pretty none the less.
Sometimes there are things that put it all into perspective. It's like the universe's way of telling you that all of the above really doesn't matter. I have a beautiful, wonderful, healthy family, a roof over my head (with power-others aren't all that lucky right now), air in my lungs and life IS good no matter what it throws at us. Watching the sun set out my window brought me some peace this evening that I hadn't felt all day and I am thankful for it!
Kelly - I love this post! And, beautiful pictures too!
