Baby #2: 12 weeks

This post was written on October 31, 2012

Now that we are officially 'out' I can begin sharing my progress.  I enjoyed doing this with Lilly and this time it will be fun to compare.  I already notice that I am HUGE compared to where I was at bump wise with Lilly.  I definitely popped much faster.  I can already tell again that this baby is going to carry all in the front.

At 12 weeks the baby is roughly the size of a lime.  We have a heartbeat (170bpm) and everything is looking good!  Our estimated due date is May 15, 2013 but the baby will more than likely be born earlier since I will be having a repeat c-sec.

The first trimester sucked royally.  I think I was more tired and while I threw up more with Lilly I was still very nauseous especially when I was hungry.  Still not totally over that hump yet but I am already feeling a bit better.

I am wearing a few maternity items only out of sheer comfort but most of my regular items still fit.  I've been wearing regular pants with the belly band because while I can still zip and button it's majorly uncomfy due to the baby bloat so I let it all hang out and let the belly band keep my pants up.

This time around we decided we want to find out the sex and I am so excited to find out!  It will be a different experience this time around and I am excited about that.

Lilly doesn't really have a clue what's going on although we have been playing with her dolls more and I try explaining it to her the best I can.  She has started pointing to my belly and saying "baby!"  I think it helps that she's around babies at school as well as our little niece Allie Beth-whom Lilly adores (sometimes too much).  We need to work on being gentle before the baby comes!  I think she's going to be a great big sister and while part of me is sad she will no longer be an only child I just know having a sibling will be great for her and she will love having a little partner in crime!

Without further ado here is my weekly bump pic.  I think I was this size when I was more like 18 weeks with Lilly.  Let's hope it will even out eventually!  (Lilly also wanted to get in on the belly action)

Here I am at 12 weeks with Lilly.  I was probably pushing out to make it look like I had more of a bump!  Ha!  I've also notice that my rear is a bit larger these days!  Gotta increase those miles on my walks!
