Easter weekend

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!  We celebrated Easter all weekend starting on Saturday morning.  A local park we love going to hosted an Easter egg hunt with a special visit from the Easter Bunny-that plus a gorgeous day = perfection! I had been looking for a local Easter egg hunt to take Lilly to and one I had found was canceled and another was right smack during nap time.  My sister in law on Friday evening told me about another one at Annie's Playground starting at 11 and we were sold!  We invited our niece Kelly to spend the day with us and her and Lilly had a blast!

We got to the park early to play and make sure we didn't miss any of the festivities.  The girls had fun playing and of course once the Easter bunny was there they were all over it!  Lilly LOVES the Easter bunny but once again the pictures don't really look it-honestly it has to do with the strangers there telling her to smile and looking at her-she's been so goofy lately about being shy at first-it takes her a good 10-20 minutes sometimes to warm up around people-especially strangers.  I guess that is a good thing though.  The pictures I have of her interacting with the bunny you can see she really does love him!

Once the egg hunt started it was hard to hold her back...she tore through finding eggs and even had help from big cousin Kelly.  She would have been happy with one egg but we encouraged her to find more and she found about 5 total!  She did really well and really held her own with some of those big 3 and 4 year olds.

We had to wait for the second round for Kelly to find her eggs since she was in the next age group.  We played and swung while Uncle Tommy helped Kelly hunt for her eggs.  It was fun to watch the big kids and Lilly kept shouting-"Go Kelly Go!".  She also decided that she wanted to call Daddy Uncle Tommy too for the day-too funny!

After the hunt we took a 2 mile hike and Lilly walked almost the entire way!  Both her and Kelly were tired at the end and so was I!  We stopped for a picnic lunch and to skip rocks in the stream.  Neither Lilly or Kelly wanted to stop!

We got home all of us tired and a little dirty and had family rest time.  We piled on the coaches and watched Nemo and eventually Lilly and Tommy fell asleep while Kelly and I rested-it was needed!  After we ventured out to Wegmans for dinner items and Lilly and Kelly picked out some carrots for the Easter Bunny and some Easter cookies for dessert.  What a fun spring day!

Easter morning was so fun!  Lilly really got the concept that the Easter Bunny came and the look on her face was great!  The Bunny hid some eggs for her and she was excited about some of her treats-she was definitely spoiled!  The rest of the morning was a little rough-I think we all were tired from the day before!

We spent the afternoon with my family and Lilly had so much fun especially since her cousin Autumn was there (my cousin's daughter).  Seeing them play together was so cute.

My aunt had a bunny statue that was just Lilly's height and she loved him.  Perfect for a photo op since Lilly refused to sit still  otherwise for me to take a picture wearing her first smocked dress!  She loved twirling around and showing it off!

It was also my dads birthday so we sang to him too.  Lilly was excited to blow out some more candles!

Here are a few more of my favorite pictures from our day:

Lilly loves Gaga!
We all slept like rocks that night-that is HUGE for me since I've been up a lot with pregnant lady problems (peeing, insomnia, ya know!).  On a side note Tommy and I got into The Bible (the series on the History channel).  We watched the final episodes last night and I set up to record the repeats if there are any coming up.  It was so good-I really enjoyed it.  Looking forward to seeing it from the beginning.  I also discovered another historical mini series, The Vikings-looking forward to that (I may be a mini historical dork-possibly something you didn't know about me or maybe wouldn't guess).  To show just how 'diverse' my tastes are though I am also excited about the Real Housewives of Orange County premier-no spoilers please!

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!  Super jealous of anyone on spring break this week!
