Nesting is in full force at the Smith household and we can even scratch some items off of our to do list! Yeah!
Re-paint the baby's roomWell we bought the paint and Tommy plans to paint on his day off Tuesday so it's pretty much as good as checked off. We steered away from the yellow and decided to go with a neutral taupe color. I love it and I think it's going to look great with blue or pink...or even green!
- Baby shower/purchase anything we still need for when the baby arrives.
Meet with the pediatrician (scheduled for February 2nd!!)Done! We love the pediatrician we picked and it's nice that the practice has offices in Towson (near my work) and in Bel Air (close to home).
- Get new tires on the civic (in case of snow on D day!)
- Make and freeze some meals/
stock up at BJ's-Well we definitely stocked up at BJ's but we will probably need another run before the little one arrives. Still haven't gotten around to freezing anything but I am not too worried. Hoping to get to making some things today while Tommy is working.
Create/finalize our birth plan- This is sort of done. I've printed out the birth plan on The Bump but I am going to tweak it a bit and I am hoping to talk with my Dr. at our appointment on Tuesday to get it finalized.
Pack bag for the hospital-Doing this today...kinda...I have some things collected but just haven't packed it yet. I may start doing this today since I really have nothing else to do and then just a make a list of some last minute things to toss in when the moment arrives.
- Finish the nursery. Yes painting is all we have done so far...and the room has been painted 3 times. I think the third time is the charm. Here are my inspiration pictures...the second picture is VERY similar to the color paint we are using (Classic Taupe by Behr):
We're getting there and speaking of checking things off lists, Tommy and I still have a few things left on our baby bucket list. When we found out we were expecting there were a few things we know we wanted to do before out little one arrived because, let's face it, we only had 9 months left to just do what whatever we wanted and we figured we would live it up until we can. We had really been talking about taking a trip to Europe but lack of funds and then of course time, prevented that from happening so looks like that will have to wait until retirement. We did get in a cruise to the Bahamas and what a great trip! We saw a different part of the world as well as the US (Charelston, SC). So check! The rest of the list was small things. We took a trip to Colonial Williamsburg, went to the Renn Fest for the first time, finished our bathroom renovations, and took a trip to NYC. Now we are in the final countdown there are a few things we still need to cross off the bucket list and we're hoping to get them in. The final two things are: Go to Philly for a Pat's cheese steak, and then go on one last date night (dinner and movie). I think we can manage those two things in 5 weeks amongst checking off the rest of the items still needed to be done before the baby arrives.
Off to work on that list!

I love your blog Kelly! :) -Katie
ReplyDeleteYou guys are getting there. Even if you don't get everything done in the nursery before the baby comes, it'll be okay. Let me know if you need anything clothing wise after the baby comes, let me know. I'm sure the baby will be spoiled by the families but I have tons of clothes both boys and girls :)
