This past weekend my mom and I went on a baby shopping spree and BOY do babies need a lot of stuff. Most of the stuff they need they will either grow out of in a matter of weeks or will be all used up in a matter of weeks (Diapers, formula, wipes...). Tommy and I are so lucky that we have so many generous family members and friends because all that was left was the small stuff and wow did that rack up a pretty penny. Luckily with some gift cards and returns for duplicates we were able to use all of that money towards it. I have no CLUE what people do who have get it all! Honestly it would have been a small fortune! Either that or it would be like what Tommy said to me this morning-We would have brought the baby home in a blanket and it would be sleeping in our drawer! Shopping not only made me realize how much we needed but also how much we didn't need. How did people survive before the Diaper Genie!? Not going on my must have list! "People managed somehow without all the bells and whistles" I said and I tossed some fancy bibs in my cart-They were buy one get one 50% off!!! Well now, even though they did survive there are things that just make life easier too and those fancy bibs may just help with changing the babies outfit 10 times a day!
I was very proud of some of the deals I got. Between coupons and shopping the discount rack I did save a lot of money! Wahoo!!! My favorite purchase was the babies winter snow suit for 50 cents!!! They were having a sale buy one item get one 50 cents and I also purchased a cute little springtime jacket for only 10 bucks to score the otherwise $40 snow suit for 50 cents. It was perfect because I was worried I wouldn't have anything toasty to bring the baby home in since all spring clothing is out now and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something the baby may wear once or twice before the warm weather hits. It's so cute too! Check it out:
After a long two days of shopping we now have a whole lot of organizing, washing clothes, putting things together ahead of us. Just taking off tags and stickers and pulling things out of boxes took forever! It was fun to go through all of our gifts and purchases again though. And wow everything is sooo teeny!!!
Teeny Diapers:
Teeny Pacifiers:
Teeny clothes:
And the 'stuff'
And in nursery progress: The crib is here!!!! :)
This weekend also marked Clarence's 37th week. Wahoo full term! His/her head is down but other than that no progress. Here is my 37 week bump shot:
So we're stocked up, head down, and just have a few more things to check off the list before I can officially feel ready!
Kieran has the same snowsuit in blue. Of course it doesn't fit him anymore but it is so warm and soft. Perfect for a new baby.
