A little piece of heaven...

Is what I am going to use to describe the Peanut Butter Truffle Brownies I found on one of the blogs I follow: Cloud 8 1/2. (after much searching I finally remembered where I found them!).

I love trying new recipes and I always make them just for us at home so we can try the recipe before subjecting anyone else to it.  I've made a few things that while the blog/recipe looked amazing, the outcome just wasn't as expected and into the trash it went (case in point the peanut butter cheesecake brownies-ack!)  I never want to make a new recipe for people unless I KNOW it's awesome and let me tell you, these little pieces of heaven are not just AWESOME, they are AMAZING.  I made a pan thinking that I will take it in to work (if it was good) for my students as a thank you for my baby shower gift but these little suckers may not make it past the threshold of my door.  I made the mistake of cutting a generous portion for Tommy and I to try last night and they are amazingly rich so next time I will cut  smaller pieces as they are more fudge-like than brownie-like.  I also would suggest adding about another 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and another 1/4 stick of butter as it was sort of hard to spread the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter mixture since it was so thin.  The recipe calls for 1 cup with 1/2 stick of butter.  You can never have too much chocolate!

I enjoyed how easy this was!  I am a fan of box brownies...they are always good and super easy and the fact that you are dolling these up with peanut butter filling and chocolate makes them taste 100% made from scratch.  The hardest part was waiting 30 minutes to let everything harden and set before cutting and tasting!

I am thinking these would be perfect for Easter dessert!
The brownies a la Dunkin Hines
Peanut Butter Truffle filling...VERY yummy on its own! You bet I licked the beaters!
The Chocolate Sauce
Added the Peanut Butter mix to brownies
Chocolate Sauce topping...see how it looks a little thin?  Well it does more so in person...which is why I want to add more for next time.
YUM!!!!!!!!!! Great with milk!
