Spicing things up a bit...

So to get things moving along in hopes for a Saint Paddy's day baby Tommy and I decided to spice things up a bit by...making home made buffalo wings-get your minds out of the gutter ;)

CR Wings has nothing on Tommy!  Since we had some wings laying around in the freezer and Tommy didn't have to work this evening we thought what better way to have some QT before the baby arrives then to have a stay at home date night with some buffalo wings and catching up on some DVR.  We thought maybe spicing things up a bit may help get this baby moving!

Making home made wings is actually really easy, although it can get messy and your house will smell like fried food for a few days but it's oh so worth it!  Bonus that today is a beautiful day and the windows are open so the smell is slowly making its way out.  Here is what you need:

Fry Daddy (you can also fry them on the stove if you don't have a fry daddy)
Vegetable Oil (we use about half of a large bottle)
Wings (we cooked about 30 small wings)
Buffalo Wing Sauce or your favorite hot sauce
Butter
Celery
Blue Cheese (we love Ken's)

We started by heating up the Fry Daddy!
and cutting the wings in half (we tossed the little arm on the wings)
Once oil is hot, slide in 8-10 wings at a time for 8-10 minutes (depending on the size of the wings)-be careful because oil can splash!
Remove wings and let cool a bit in bowl

While wings are cooking, mix hot sauce and butter in a microwave safe bowl or cup.  We kind of just mix to taste adding butter and hot sauce to spice up or cool down the flavor.
When wings are done toss wings in sauce.  We use a Tupperware container so we can shake them up!  Making wings is VERY entertaining!
Serve over a bed of fries with celery and Blue Cheese on the side-YUM!  We recommend Alexia's all natural Waffle Fries-they get super crispy and are VERY yummy!
And here is what Baby Smith thinks of the wings:
Baby Smith like!  But apparently not enough to come out!  Maybe he/she is scared of what our kitchen in progress looks like!  :)
