Roasted Pumpkin Seeds-Maryland Style

Baking pumpkin seeds is a fall tradition (2 years in a row counts as tradition right?) Tommy and I have started and man are they yummy.  We make them Maryland style which basically means we pile on the Old Bay!  Carving pumpkins is Tommy's thing so while he's carving away I am cleaning and roasting the pumpkin seeds.  Before I get to the how to's here are our Pumpkins this year:

This is Lilly's pumpkin-it has one bottom tooth-just like her!

Roasting pumpkin seeds is easy-the hardest part is picking them out of all the goop!  They are slimy little buggers!

Wash and dry the seeds.  To speed up the drying process I spread them on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven for 3-4 minutes (at 350 degrees).

Once dry -I drizzled olive oil over the seeds and tossed to coat.  Then I generously sprinkled them with Old Bay tossing them in between to make sure they were really covered.  Bake for about 30 minutes at 350 and there you have it!  Easy!  They are so yummy and are the perfect fall snack!  I may have to cut open the pumpkins we didn't carve just to get more (and make Lilly some baby food!).
