I like to plan and planning is what I am doing right now. What is crazy is WHAT I am planning. A First Birthday Party. What the!? How is it that this year my baby turns 1!!!! I will be 30 years old with a 1 year old. It's bonkers to me. I still feel 25 (on good days) and wasn't it only yesterday that Lilly Grace just slept and ate all day??!! Yowza! (ok I MUST be 30 because only a 30 year old would use bonkers and yowza).
Not much of a surprise here but the theme is going to be Elmo. Colors are pink, orange, red, yellow with accents of black. Her Elmo dress has been ordered (and already made) and is stinking CUTE, and I have picked up a few items that I have seen in my travels out to the stores. I am hoping to get around to a few of my decor projects over the next few weekends. I learned from Christmas that doing things in chunks ahead of time, helps budgeting wise so I will stick with that again. The invitation has been made on mix book (awesome site!) and I just need to get her pictures done to finish them and order. The guest list has been created and food and decoration ideas have been pinned. I feel like I am in wedding planning mode all over again. Sure she will only remember it from what we tell her and pictures but I don't care. I want it to be awesome because you only have a 1st birthday once. Call me a crazy planner but I think of it as making the most of my time especially since I don't have much of it lately.
Lilly is getting so big and I am amazed at how fast she learns things. I normally would be saving these tid bits for her 10 month post but I don't want to forget them! She's babbling up a storm right now and even saying a few words. She says dada like a champ (still no mama-Boo! She is also saying duck which sounds more like duh but when you hold up her rubber duckie she says duh so duck it is! She's signing all done now, climbing stairs like a pro, and is crawling around super fast! She pretty much eats everything that is healthy and good for her and has really liked pancakes and blueberries which are some of the new items she has tried lately. She is loving books too. She will sit an play with her books forever and she still loves her Christmas book so much that I cannot put it away. She finally now says: "Hohoho"! She does a really good job mimicking mom and dad. I had to laugh because today when I was making lunch I yelled down to Tommy who was in the basement and Lilly looked towards the basement and yelled out some gibberish. Too cute! She is such a curious little bugger and she is growing so fast!!! One is just around the corner!
