Kelly's Corner: Operation get organized!

I am generally an organized person. Lately (well since March) I haven't felt at all like I have my stuff together. It's so hard to get organized and so easy to get dis-organized. Ever since March, I feel like I have let a lot of stuff go and one of my goals for this year is to get things back in order. There are particular places in the house that I really need to get organized, and some I WANT to get organized. Case in point. I NEED to get all of our paid bills, receipts, important papers filed-they are currently piled up on our desk down the basement. But what is so fun about that?? I WANT to get my closets and such organized and I decided to get the ball rolling by doing something I WANTED and then maybe the organizing bug will hit and the whole house will get done. I started small-with my make-up.

Ok- you ask-how hard is that? Well, before I was married a Sephora trip was like going to the grocery store is now. I went, sometimes because I needed moisturizer but generally it was because I wanted to add to my collection. I wore different eyeshadow every day and took time to get ready and put on make-up. Ha! I don't even remember what that feels like. Now I am ready in 30 minutes flat and can barely get mascara and blush on. I was feeling sorry for the mass amounts of make up laying under my master bath sink, not being used. Seriously it's a couple hundred dollars worth of make-up-I NEED to start using it. So I dug it out, sifted through it, tossed some questionable lip gloss (that I think MAY had something growing in it) and organized it! I sorted it by type and color and made it easy to see and access so maybe now it will be easier to use on a daily basis.

I used Sterelite snapping containers that all snap together and you can add some, or remove some for whatever you need and some baskets. All of this I already had around the house so this organization project was FREE. Even better.
