When Tommy and I were discussing what would be best for Lilly and our family the other night, Tommy made a comment that really struck a chord with me. He said that these people will be raising Lilly. I got defensive at first. No one else is raising our child except us. He then said to me-"they are one of our village people Kelly" as in: it takes a village (to raise a child). He was so right. We cannot possibly do it all on our own. Even stay at home parents can't do it all. While we will certainly be giving Lilly her values and teaching her along the way, she will have so many other influences in her life that will contribute to who she is. Teachers, grandparents, aunts and uncles, us. It takes a village. The more I thought about it the more I feel that we have some awesome village people that will all help Lilly be the awesome person she will become. She's already a pretty awesome kid so far. So "thank you" village people (you know who you are)-the unsung hero's of the raising of our child and future children.
This week we have officially transitioned Lilly from formula to whole milk but holy cow (no pun intended) has her appetite increased! I feel like she is always hungry now especially around dinner time. Maybe she's growing or maybe we need to be giving her something else other than what we normally give. I was thinking about asking our Dr. about a supplement or something. Just when I think I have it down! I have to say this girl loves her food! We will we be working now on transitioning her to a sippy cup at least for during the day. She still loves her bottle and I don't want to spring too many changes on her at once.
This past weekend was a busy one for us. Tommy had gigs both Friday and Saturday night and I had to work Saturday which already would make for a tiring weekend- but -we also celebrated Tommy's mom and my dad's birthdays. Happy Birthday Mimi and Gramps! We love you!
Also this week was Tommy and I's 10 year anniversary. Even though we really don't celebrate this anniversary anymore, 10 years is a pretty long time. A whole decade and I cannot imagine spending this past 10 years with anyone else. A whole lot has happened in these 10 years and each year gets better than the next! Love you more than anything Tommy!
We also got our taxes (almost) done-thanks to my Pop and today we wrapped up our weekend by
Finally we came home to veg and let's face it, I cannot veg anymore. I left Tommy and Lilly to nap and I went to run 3 miles. It was tough, not because I couldn't run, but because I realized that I have no core muscles anymore. I forgot how critical they were to running distance. Man...I was dragging on the hills. I plan on running twice this week during my lunch break and then two more good sized runs this coming weekend. We are one busy family! Hope everyone has a good week. I am looking forward to Easter weekend!
