Lilly's Special Day

While Lilly's birthday party was on a Saturday, her actual birthday was Sunday.  It was so nice to have another special day for her that was a little more low key.

We woke up and relaxed in the morning, had breakfast, and then got ready to take Lilly out on a special date.  But first, naps had to be haved

Of course what's a birthday without a photo shoot!

"Holy Crap I am ONE!"

"I canNOT believe it!!!!"

Lilly opened more presents from Tommy and I and had fun playing with some of the toys she got on Saturday.

In her birthday tutu!
What's a birthday without a little meltdown?

We took Lilly to Toy's R Us to pick out some birthday goodies from Tommy and I.  We had already bought her some clothes and a book but we wanted to start a tradition with Lilly of having a special birthday treat-shopping and lunch out with Mommy and Daddy!  She picked out a pink shopping cart (with our help of course) and a Crayola my first markers and color wonder paper (the marker only writes on the special paper!).  We also got her two new sippy cups and no-spill snack cups.  She got a balloon and a crown when we checked out for her birthday!  So fun!

It's blurry because she was so excited about her balloon!

After Toys R Us we went to lunch at Looneys.  Lilly had so much fun.  She got to color and she even danced to the music.  She ate a whole half of grilled cheese, some sweet potato fries, and apple sauce.  She had a taste of catsup and loved it.  She sucked it off the fry!

I freakin' LOVE applesauce!

After lunch we had to burn off some calories so we took a family walk and Lilly got to cruise in her new ride!  Thanks Aunt Baba!

Of course she had one more cupcake!  It was her birthday after all!

This picture fills my heart with love...I love this adorable girlie!

Yesterday Lilly had her 1 year check up.  Which wasn't so special.  She had a breakdown before she even got her shots because she saw her bottle in the diaper bag.  In her defense we waited a while in the room and she was very antsy.  I didn't even have a chance to finish talking with Dr. Minton we just got the shots over with and I was able to quickly make her bottle and she calmed down right away.  Her poor face was so splotchy.  I felt so bad because she's never like that.  Once she was sucking down her bottle she was fine and was even smiling and waving to the nurses in the office before we left.  She must have been hungry because after her bottle she ate an entire banana too!  My little chunky monkey is 21 lbs 9oz and 28 1/2 inches.  She's in the 75th percentile in both weight and height.

All smiles before...

After her check up we went to Target and Lilly picked out new monkey pj's.  She's really into monkey's lately and got all excited when she saw them-she even made her monkey sounds!  When we got home we were surprised to find a package at our door.  It was from her secret birthday pal from the March mom's facebook group (originally started on The Bump).  She had fun opening it and was excited to see it was her very own Elmo remote!!!  She loves it!

The weekend of Lilly is now over.  Time to starting gearing up for Easter which is in a few weeks and I really need to kick it into high gear if I don't want to embarass myself at the 10K on April 16th.  I think I need to start running on my lunch break.  We also have some birthday celebrations coming up!  Fun times are ahead!
