19 months!

Our dear, sweet vivacious Lillian Grace is 19 months old this month.  I feel like the past 4 weeks have been a whirlwind-in a good way.  So much is happening with our little family-we have been busy lately-but also with Lilly's development has just blossomed specifically her vocabulary and talking has just exploded!  She pretty much says anything (within reason of course) and she's talking more and more in two and three word sentences.  She amazes me each day and sometimes I cannot believe the things she picks up on.  Just watching her play with her baby dolls and how she interacts with them amazes me.  She changes their diaper and wipes them with wipes.  She says "Bless You"  when one of us sneezes, and she will remember something even if we only said it or did it once.  She doesn't miss a trick.

While we still have some tantrums from time to time, I have noticed she has learned how to use her words rather than fuss when she wants something.  I've really been trying to work on this with her by telling her what to say.  Now when she's eating a banana, when she gets down to the skin and needs it peeled, she doesn't fuss she says:  "help mommy".  When she wants to get down from her chair she will says "Down Please".  She's really doing well now with this, although the fuss pot will come out from time to time.

A BIG accomplishment this month is that Lilly POOPED and peed (twice) on the potty.  We haven't started potty training yet but we've been showing her how to use the toilet and getting her used to the idea.  She's been telling us when she has poop in her diaper so we figured it would be a good sign to get the ball rolling.  We're not doing anything major yet but she does ask to go on the potty and we will put her on before bath and if her diaper is dry from overnight.  After she pooped on the potty one morning I went and got her a potty chair since she really needs to be held up over our large toilet.  It's so cute and will even sing if she tinkles!  She's peed in it twice and both times she pumps both fists in the hair and says " Yeah Potty!"  She's so proud of herself and I have to say I am so proud of her too!  My plan is to go with it and possible over my winter break between Christmas and New Years to maybe start getting big girl undies and see how that goes.  I don't want to push it since she's still young-but if she's wanting to do it I am all for it.  Daycare seems pretty supportive and they have even commented that she shows signed of early potty training.  We shall see!  Go Lilly!

Another milestone this month was that Lilly had her first haircut.  She was sporting the baby mullet for a while and her bangs and hair just got so straggly!  If she let me put bows in her hair we could have held off a little longer but she rips them out so I took her to the salon that cut my hair recently (mommy make-over post coming soon!).  They did a great job and she was an ANGEL.  I cannot believe she sat so still while the stylist cut her hair.  I was amazed (and again so proud).  She definitely was rewarded by a pop and lots of hugs and kisses!  Doesn't she look adorable!?

We don't have any official stats this month but Lilly is still around 27 lbs.  She's still able to fit in 18 month clothes but can also wear some 24 month stuff too.  I plan on just getting 24 months for the winter/spring.  She's still in a size 4 diaper but I think when I make my next diaper purchase I am going to bump her up to a size 5.  She is wearing a size 5 shoe.

October is a month FILLED with birthdays for our friends and family.  I don't have pictures of all the parties we went to but here is my favorite from Tommy's 30th.  Other birthdays celebrated this month was her cousin Katie, Auntie Em, and Autumn (which technically will end up in the 20 month post since it happened after her 19 month birthday).

We also visited the pumpkin patch this month-well not an actual patch but you got that from the previous post!

Lilly Grace, we love you more than words can say.  We are so proud of you and how grown up you are getting.   We have so much fun with you and you are such a special little girl.  Happy 19 months.  In just a few more months we will be planning and celebrating your 2nd birthday.  There are so many more milestones ahead and we are looking forward to each and every one of them!
