So Lilly LOVES Santa. She loved him last year and this year, even though we had not physically went to see him yet, she talked about it and when she saw him in books or on TV she would shout: "Santa! There he is!".
I was pumped. So many pictures on facebook depict kids her age crying when seeing Santa and I was confidant Lilly would run to him with open arms so excited to hug him and sit on his lap. I. WAS. Wrong. Sadly.
Lilly's school had an after hours Christmas party for students and families and Santa was going to make an appearance in each room. They always do such a great job around the holidays having games and crafts for the kids and this holiday it was no exception. Lilly had so much fun making a gingerbread house. It's hanging up in our living room and when she sees it she proudly says: "I made it!".
They had cookies, and snacks, and played music until Santa arrived.
She's just going to be the BEST big sister!
When Santa walked in Lilly got excited-I was pumped. He even brought all the kids a book and Lilly waited patiently for her turn to get her present. And then came sitting on his lap...
Uhhh Ms. Nicole-what are you doing?
No real tears-she just did NOT want to sit on his lap! We were able to get a family photo with Santa.
She sure didn't waste time digging into her present though!
And she liked watching everyone else take a turn. She even held up her book saying to Santa: "Ladybug girl!" One of her favorites-this one was "Ladybug Girl and friends".
Before Santa left, the KA staff had their picture taken with Santa. Apparently Lilly is a future KA teacher! These ladies are wonderful-Lilly is so lucky to have them as her teachers-she loves them too!
I don't blame her for not wanting to sit on Santa's lap, that is one scary scary Santa. Next time take her to see the REAL Santa.
