Baby #2: Weeks 28 and 29

a few weeks behind...hey I am impressed with myself that I am getting it done now! Better late than never!

I hate that scratchy feeling you get right before a nice little cold comes on.  Can I catch a break this pregnancy?  Of course not!  Poor Lilly had something along these lines and she's not been herself for almost a week.  Drinking more water than usual and lots of juice to try and get me through but this dreaded cold came on fast and my nose is so red and raw.  No Puffs Plus with soothing aloe can soothe this nose.  I've been trying natural remedies but they only seem to offer temporary relief.  I shall be strong!

Baby related news...pretty uneventful still, although I am feeling a bit more achy which I think is round ligament pain.  It almost feels like I sprinted and had a cramp in my side.  Nothing alarming-just annoying.  I am definitely not the spry pregnant lady I was with Lilly but so I am told things are generally different with number two.

My belly is growing out more than with Lilly so I feel much bigger but I can notice that with Lilly I seemed a bit more wider.  I also feel like my stomach is lower this time around.
At 28 weeks the baby is about 17 inches long.  Lilly was 21 inches and some change when she was born so he's almost there!  He is also about 3 lbs.  If he weighs in around at what Lilly was he only has 5 more pounds to go and just 4 more inches!  According to the bump he is the size of an eggplant which I don't get because at 17 inches and 3lbs I feel like that's more like a small watermelon!  But what do I know!

Here is my 28 week baby bump...ignore my sick face.

Week 29 and the baby is now the size of an acorn squash!  I am finally on the mend, although still a little stuffy.  Fingers crossed there will be no more sickness in my family for the rest of the pregnancy at least!

This weekend I am taking advantage of having 'no plans' to start cleaning out the guest room.  The bed is heading to my cousins college apartment and the mattress and dresser are heading to the dump.  Still trying to decide what to do with my wedding dress.  I am thinking of donating it.  It still hasn't been cleaned 4 years later-oops!  This will also give me the chance to get rid of some other junk I've been holding on to or not sure what to do with-like old frames and 'stuff' like graduation announcements, receipts, etc.   Maybe we will even be ambitious and head to Home Depot for some paint!  I am thinking a light lavender color would be nice.

The baby is definitely slowing down his movement and my belly seems to be growing tighter as he's completely bunch up right in a ball in the front of my stomach.  He moves around typically the most after dinner and it's fun to sit and watch tv and feel him wiggling all around.  He likes to curl up on my right side leaving my left side jiggly and flat.  Some times I can really feel limbs! Not sure if it's his legs or arms but it's something and it's so cool!  sometimes I even feel a tickling like fingers wiggling!

No real food cravings but I am so happy Easter candy is out right now.  Mini Eggs, Reese's Eggs, and Cream Eggs oh my!

This weekend I am also trying to start getting by butt in gear-I've been more lazy than I should be-chalking a lot of it up to the weather and the fact that it's dark after dinner BUT I need to get moving.  Hoping on the treadmill just as I finish this post.  I figured that starting before the baby may help jump start my MAJOR weight loss plan for post baby. As many time as I tried after having Lilly it was very slow and honestly I probably didn't try as hard and I said I was.  This time around I already know it has to be different.  Especially since I am thinking this may be my last pregnancy.  Looking back at pictures make me realize how much I really need to loose and the fact that we just bought a scale and I stood on it and saw the number...it made me sick.  (Yes I know I am with child yada yada but it's still ick!).

So enough rambling...here is my 29 week bump (next week I am at 30 which means 10 (or really 9) more weeks!)
