A well deserved honor...

Last weekend was my high school, Mount de Sales Academy's annual lacrosse Friendship Tournament.  This tournament has been going on since 1987 so for 26 years!  Mount de Sales is a school steeped in tradition dating back to 1852!  It's no surprise that the Friendship Tournament is still being played to this day and to them, 26 years is nothing!  This year was pretty special-my coach from when I played from 1997-2000 is back coaching!  The 2013 Friendship tournament began another start another tradition-alumni team members were invited to come, watch the games, catch up, and have a brunch between games.

In addition to the invitation and new tradition, an alumni team member would also be recognized each year.  I couldn't be more proud that for the first year, my best friend, Robyn, was honored not only for her dedication to the team during her years playing, but also for the strength and courage she has shown every day since her diagnosis with brain and spinal cancer.  She is the strongest person I know and I am so proud of her.  She is amazing!

Here are some pictures of the day:

The 1999 team-my junior year.  This is the day we beat Delaney.  It was pretty awesome!  I am in the top row left #14.

Some of my favorite memories were at MDS.  Those 4 years I learned so much about myself and being a Mount de Sales girl has made me who I am today!  Hail to you dear Mount de Sales!
