We left at dinner time on Friday so I put the kids in their jammies and we hit up Chick fil a on the way and then we were off!
This was also the first time Lilly held Tommy by herself! He looks almost as long as her!
I think Lilly was pretty pumped because she was up until 9pm talking about the beach. She even got to see her first rainbow! It was huge and so beautiful-we had to pull over to take a picture. It wouldn't even fit into the shot! Lilly asked if she could slide down the rainbow-ha!
We arrived to 30th street a little after 10 and of course Lilly woke up and was excited to see Gramps there to greet her at the car. Tommy was fast asleep! Since we were at the beach we let her stay up while we greeted everyone-she ended up not getting back to sleep until midnight-oh well it's a vacation right!?
She slept in (until 7:30) and woke up still pumped for the ocean-when she saw it out the windows she exclaimed: "Mommy the beach is open now!"
We had a beach breakfast and headed out to the waves as soon as we could-Lilly even helped Gramps and Daddy put out the chairs and umbrellas!
Lilly had a blast playing in the waves and the sand, taking beach naps (until 5pm!) and then waking up again for more beach time and a hunt for sand crabs. Tommy even saw some beach action and he loved it so much he took a beach nap! It was a long but fun day ending with a family dinner and we even saw some fireworks!
We were sad to go the next day. We were all tired when we got home but we sure did have lots of fun in a short amount of time! When you ask Lilly what her favorite part was about the beach she says the waves and crabs! My favorite part was being with my two babies (well three if you count big Tommy!)
