Tommy 5 months

Just like month 4, month 5 snuck up quickly.  What can I say about this month?  It has been pretty trying in the sleep department little man.  You are going through some sort of growth spurt/teething or something. You fall asleep wonderfully but get up about every 3 hours...sometimes even more to eat. Mama is exhausted.  We are pushing through!  You nap wonderfully and eat well during the day so I am pretty sure growing and teeth are the culprits!

You are getting on a schedule now these days which is nice.  You eat pretty much every 2-3 hours and take 2 morning naps and one in the afternoon which is usually a quick snooze before dinner time.  During the week you are at school and do the same about.  In the next month I am thinking we will start working down to 2 longer naps.  Right now you keep them pretty short at about 45 minutes-1 hour and usually one of your naps is at least 2 hours. 

Fall is such a busy time of year for us.  This month we didn't do much but we did spend some nice days outside, picked your first pumpkin, and enjoyed some time together as a family.  Mama has been busy with work which is why we are laying pretty low on the weekends.  You love getting out and about and you just take it all in!
 

You are starting to develop a little personality.  Even though you are waking up angry during the night, when you get up for the day you are all smiles and you are super talkative.  You love talking with mommy and daddy.  You think your sister is a hoot.  You love her and you are her captive audience. You watch her likes hawk! 

You and Lilly are best buds already!  She is an awesome big sister and you clearly think so too!

You had your first formula bottle this month.  I tried my hardest to exclusively breast feed you but with my busy work schedule lately we had dipped in way too many times to mommies freezer stash and we  did what we needed to do. You now have about one formula bottle a day.  You are hungry! 

You weigh close to 17 lbs and are slowly starting to fit into 9 month clothing.  It's been hot out lately though so you have been squeezing into your short sleeve smaller onesies.  We are excited that fall is on the horizon!!!

We are getting ready to start you on solids. This month we tried bananas and apples.  Dr. Minton gave the go ahead to start tasting foods and once you turn 6 months ( which is not far away!) we will get on more of a solid schedule.  You are really liking it so far.  It's fun to watch you roll it around in your mouth.  I have begun making baby food again.  So far I have apples and carrots made and frozen.  Looking to do sweet potatoes and peas soon. 

You LOVE moving.  You have started really loving jumping in your jumperoo and giggle with pleasure when you are jumping.  It's too cute!

You have blue eyes and I think they are sticking and light brown/reddish hair.  You have the sweetest face ever-it just melts my heart!

My baby boy you are growing up too fast.  It's crazy to think you are almost a half a year old!   

Time is really flying bud.  Everyday when I pick you up from school it looks like you have grown. 

You and your sister are a lot alike in many ways but I can also already see differences in your personalities.  Here is Lilly at 5 months:
