Tommy 7 months

My baby boy you are now 7 months and man are you growing up!  You are on the move.  I swear if you could you would be running around the house getting into everything.  You aren't crawling just yet but you can move to where you want to be by scooting, rolling, and inching.  You are about to crawl any second now.  You are quickly figuring it out and I am pretty sure we are going to need those baby gates we didn't so much need for Lilly.

You are eating everything.  I swear overnight you became an eating machine.  I am still making some food but since time is precious to us I have bought you some organic pouches and unlike your sister you love them!  You are also a puff hog.  If I don't hide them when putting them in the grocery cart you better believe that I have to open them up.  You are back to being exclusively breastfed since you went on a formula strike.  Now that you are eating 'real' food mostly though it seems you are satisfied now with 12-15 oz during the day.  You seem to drink more in the morning and less in the evening so we are giving you larger bottles for breakfast and lunch times and you only take about 2-3 oz for your afternoon bottle.  You are eating just once before bedtime and we do that before dinner usually.  Our evening routine consists of nursing, puffs and a little bit of applesauce or pears while we eat, bath time, story time or playing with daddy time, and then rocking and falling to sleep no later than 7:30.

I take you in for a follow up appointment to check your ears and to get the rest of your shots so I will get your official weight then for your 8 month post.  I am sure you have hit 17lbs.  You are wearing all 9 month clothing and a few 12 month onesies in certain brands and 12 month 2 piece jammies.  You are in a size 3 diaper. You seem to big to me now.  Especially when I fed you-your legs hang off my lap!

This past month you celebrated your First Thanksgiving!  You had so much fun having everyone at your house and getting lots of attention.  You even got to eat some dinner-you loved mommy's sweet potatoes!

You also started having your baths sitting up in the tub like a big boy.  You had been in your seat laying down and you just kept trying to roll out or sit up so since you had been sitting so well I gave it a try and you LOVE it.  Bath time is full of splashes, squeals, and it can turn a cranky baby boy into a happy baby boy!  As soon as you hear the tub running and I take you into the bathroom you are kicking and leaning towards the tub.  I am pretty soaked after-but I don't mind!  Here is a cute video of you in the tub-you also love blowing raspberries lately which you can see in the first few seconds!

You still love your jumper and you love being outside-even in the cold-you never complain.

You are starting to realize when you are left alone-and you don't like it much.  I can put you in your jumper and run into the kitchen to put a dish away and you fuss.  As soon as you see me come back around the corner you are bouncing and smiling again.

You adore your sister.  You hear her voice and you immediately look for her.  You smile at her whenever she comes into a room and she can entertain you to no end.  She's been a great little babysitter for when mommy needs to put something away in another room or switch out the laundry really quick.

Your favorite song right now is "If you're happy and you know it".  You have even developed your own clap-it's adorable!  Your little spirit fingers!!

We went to get your first Christmas tree!  It was so cold but you were a trooper.

We are ready for the holidays in the Smith household and the first week of December proved that you love the holidays, especially the lights!  You also look so cute in your Christmas jammies and outfits!  I know you will have such a fun first Christmas!

My sweet baby boy you are such a joy to our family.  Your silent smile is contagious and you are growing up right before our eyes.  It is so cool to see you learning!  It's so bittersweet because we want to keep you little for as long as we can but I think you are forging ahead.  You already want to run and jump and climb and are trying so hard.  Almost Tommy!

Happy 7 months baby boy!
