Official 1 year stats

I know as a parent we really shouldn't compare our children.  In some ways it is hard not to.  I find myself doing it for some milestones so I can kind of gauge when Tommy will be doing something-like crawling or walking.  I have also been comparing them a lot when it comes to weight and height.  One, I think it's neat to look back and see what Lilly was like at his age but two, I've also been thinking about it lately because Tommy seems to be much smaller than Lilly was at his age.  I guess I always assumed boys would be bigger.  Shame on me and my gender stereotypes.  Turns out I am sort of wrong.

I had been recalling Lilly based on the size clothing she wore.  She was born in March and was already starting to wear some 18 month clothing and Tommy is good to go with 12 month size and probably will be for the summer.  We weighed in officially yesterday and he was 20 lbs 3oz. and 28 3/4 inches.  I wanted to see what Lilly's stats were so I looked them up (yea for documenting everything on the BLOG) and she actually wasn't MUCH bigger than he was-she was actually shorter.  (Ah mom brain memory).  Lilly was 21lbs 9oz and 28 1/2 inches at her 1 year check up.  So she was definitely chunkier it seems (just a tad) and slightly shorter.  I really think Tommy has a HUGE metabolism because with the way he eats he should be a chunkier by now.

I found A picture of Lilly at her one year check up and I thought it would be fun to see her and Tommy side by side.  I think they really look different in these pictures!

We had quite the adventure on the way to Tommy's check up yesterday morning.  We were almost there and I heard Tommy start to cough and then what sounded to be throw up-I looked back and Tommy was puking all over himself and the back seat.  WONDERFUL.

I pulled off on a side street and cleaned up what I could with baby wipes.  I had no change of clothes for him so I made a pit stop at Walmart and got him a cheap outfit that actually looked cute on him.  The doctor wasn't too concerned with him throwing up since he didn't have a fever or appeared to be too ill so he got his 3 shots.  Ouch.  Because I had some cleaning to do and I smelled like puke I took the rest of the day off to head home and have some time with him.  I was glad I did because the shots made him a bit cranky and he just wanted his mommy!

Today Tommy is back to himself thank goodness!
