The ONE where we decided to go to Philly

Being spontaneous isn't easy with a 3 year old and 1 year old but it's getting easier now that we aren't tied down to every 2-3 hour feedings and all of us can eat real food and some days you just gotta get off the schedule because hey kids can nap in the car or in the stroller or just not at all.

Last Sunday we decided to take a road trip to Philadelphia.  It was awesome.  We decided Saturday night and we only had a small dilemma-we had to shop for Tommy's party and get groceries for the week.  So we got up early and did our shopping and were on the road by 11:15-just in time for Tommy to nap the entire way!  Pretty perfect.

Our first stop was for lunch (because all road trips revolve around getting some sort of awesome food) at Pat's.  YUM!  I took some things for the kids because cheese steaks aren't too toddler friendly but they each tried some and Lilly loved the cheese fries (or cheese eyes as she thought we were saying!  lol).

I am glad I grabbed the kids jackets as we were walking out the door because it was a bit misty and chilly!  Tommy and I were cold but it was worth it!

After Pat's we drove over to Center City where we saw the Liberty Bell and just walked around.  The kids had a blast.  We got some souvenirs at the gift shop and the kids loved petting the horses that were pulling the carriages!

Our last stop was the Rocky stairs!  By then it had warmed up and the kids had a blast running up the steps.  My Lilly's first instinct though wasn't to hum "dun dun duuuuu" but to stomp on the step and sing "Let it Go!" just like queen Elsa.  Classic!

We left the city around 3:30-just in time for a late snooze for the hour and some change car ride home.  It was a BLAST.  While the history was lost on them the fun was not!

Me:  "Hey Lilly-this is where the Declaration of Independence was signed"
Lilly: "Oh great!"
