This past month has been pretty eventful with the good, the bad, and the ugly-and do I mean ugly! You came down with a nasty virus on top of having a reaction to your chicken pox vaccine and you actually had 5 chicken pox on your neck and chest! You were miserable and it was heartbreaking and stressful. I am SO glad it's over and I hope we don't get anything like that again! The worst thing so far I have experienced as a parent is the feeling of helplessness when your child is sick-I would have been sick in an instant for you bub if it meant you would have been 100%!
By Father's Day you were back to yourself and boy have you been making up for your lack of appetite. Since you have been better, you have been eating non-stop! If you aren't sleeping you are eating. You love fruit, especially grapes, veggie straws and pretzels are some of your favorite snacks, and you love chicken and mac and cheese. You have had your first taste of corn too and love it!
I think for sure you are going through a growth spurt but it's hard to tell since you are still right around 20 pounds-it's all that moving you are doing!
You are definitely getting taller (I think) and I am excited to get your official stats at your 15 month check up on August. You are still wearing 12 month clothes and a few 18 month items-like pj's and rompers. You wear a size 4.5 shoe.
You now had 4 top teeth and three bottom teeth, You can't see your top teeth much but I did manage to get a picture of them! You definitely have some choppers!
You celebrated your daddy on Father's Day with our traditional Waffle House breakfast (which you gobbled up) and a trip to Kilgore Falls! You loved throwing rocks in the water-one of your favorite things to do.
We hit lots of milestones this month! You officially gave up your papi-on your own!!! I think it was because your mouth was so sore when you were sick you just didnt' want it and haven't since. We will take it! It's still a bit hard to get you to settle down without it but you still take an evening bottle (hey we can't do everything yet!) so that helps!
You moved up to room 2 at school. I know you needed the space and room to move and it is good for you but mama shed a tear your first day. You, of course, didn't bat an eyelash! You are no longer an infant-officially! You are even taking your nap on a cot!!! (tear!)
You had our first s'more!
You are learning so much! You know some body parts-nose, head, tongue, tummy. You point to yourself when we ask where Tommy is. Your talking (or babbling) more distinctly saying works like more, dog, mama, dada, that, bottle and of course, snack! You recognize animals like the gorilla and elephant. You still LOVE dogs!!! We recently went to Clarks Farm and you had a blast petting the goats (and chasing them) and you even rode a horse!!!
You had fun doing the other things at the farm too!
We also did some other fun short trips to Fort McHenry and Susquehana State park. Trying to soak up as much summer fun as we can!
You received on of the best hand me downs ever-a pair of Osh Kosh overalls that your Uncle Paul used to wear (they are 22 years old!) You look adorable in them!
One of your favorite things to do is play in the water. There are many times we just fill buckets and stick you on the deck to play-you could do it for hours!
To end your 13th month you had a wild 4th of July weekend! You LOVED the parade!!! I think that was our favorite part. You also got to spend the night at Grammy and Gramp's and Mimi and Pa's in one weekend. We had a blast eating, swimming, and just having fun! And yes we did all wearing matching shirts-I promise not to make you wear stuff like this when you are old enough for it to embarrass you!
