You were 16 months old (last) Monday (I am so behind!). Every day you remind me of how big you are getting. You have our morning and school drop off routines down pat (you are even sleeping until at least 6am which helps mommy and daddy A LOT!), you add new words to your vocabulary every day, and you continue to amaze us with your ability to understand and interact.
You are thriving at your new school and love playing with your friends. You have started practicing your ABC's. You can say words like truck, giraffe, bus, hi and bye, duck, dog, Lilly, mommy, daddy, Maude (the school director), you know many animal sounds. You wave hi and bye to everyone! When I pick you up each day you run to me and give me a big kiss "MWA!". I love it. You have started recognizing your animals and objects in your Little Word book. You have started actually sitting while we read to you. Your favorite books are currently "My Little Animal Picture Book", "My Little Word Picture Book", "Moo, Baa, La la la", and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear". You will even sit for some time by yourself and flip through books!
Everyday I think that you look (and feel) much bigger but in reality you are a little peanut. You had your 15 month check up late and you are in the 23rd percentile for both weight and height. You are 22 lbs even. The doctor doesn't seem too concerned with that though since you are eating like a little piggy still and you still get 12 ounces of whole milk a day. I think you are perfect! You are now getting in to 18 month clothes. You still fit in to a lot of 12 month stuff it just looks a little skimpier.
Your feet did grow on queue after three months and you are in a size 5 shoe. I did move you up to a size 5 diaper even though they are a tad big. You were starting to have leaks and since moving up a size those have stopped.
August to September was a busy month for us as it marked the start of school. Lilly had her first day of Pre-k 3's on the 25th and even though you weren't you still had a celebratory first day picture!
You were also baptized on August 17th. Praise the Lord! You didn't do too well sitting through the ceremony but you did wonderful when it came time for you to be baptized. I loved your little outfit-you looked like a Royal!
We have been doing many fun things outside as Fall and cooler weather are on the horizon. Making the most of the last days of summer. We went to Kilgore Falls, hiking and wading through the Gunpowder River, swimming, the MD State Fair, Brooms Blooms Dairy, and you even kicked off the Raven's home opener. You LOVED the animals at the state fair-especially the horse competitions!
You rode in a fire truck for the first time and loved it! You got to sit up front!
You also spent 2 days with Grammy and Gramps and had a blast. It was your first time spending the night away from mommy and daddy. We missed you, but we had fun relaxing and getting some things done-like a trip to Costco!
You are still as adventurous as ever. You love water, rocks, and sticks, being outside, dinosaurs, animals, and you love to climb! From the time you wake up until the time you crash at night you are go, go, go!
My little man, you make me smile every day. You are such a sweetheart and I thank God everyday for you. You make mommy and daddy very tired but we wouldn't trade it for anything! Happy 16 months baby boy! Mommy, Daddy, and Lilly love you to pieces.
