I love love love Fall. Who doesn't really? We are fortunate enough to have a lot of farms near us that have lots of fun things this time of year (and year round!). We don't really have a traditional farm we go to-we like to mix it up- but this year we went to one farm twice (three if you count the time Lilly went there for her school fall field trip. These times happened to be three days in a row!
Lilly went to Harman's farm last Friday with her school for a hayride and a pumpkin. She couldn't stop talking about it.
So on Saturday when Big Tommy decided to go fishing for the day and I needed to get the kids out of the house, I decided we would go and check it out. PLUS we still hadn't picked out our BIG pumpkin to carve for Halloween! I was a bit nervous about taking both kids to a farm by myself but they did great and had so much fun! We went to McDonald's afterward for their Halloween Happy Meal. We really only go to McDonalds once or twice a year and this is when we go! The kids enjoyed it and I tried not to think about how bad it was for them-everything in moderation right!?
On Sunday when I asked Lilly what she wanted to do she asked to go to the farm again. Since Big Tommy hadn't been I figured why not! We even picked up another pumpkin-this time a cool one with warts!
We had such a fun time and the owners of the farm were sooooo nice! Most farms near us you have to pay an arm and a leg just to get in and participate in all of the festivities but this one you only had to pay for your pumpkin. I even picked up some fresh produce for dinner this week.
On another note, the kids' school had a trunk or treat event. It was the first time we had ever been to one and we had a blast!
Happy Fall everyone!
