Over the past 2 weeks your vocabulary has increased. You say words much clearer now and you have even put two words together and the amount of just gibberish has increased too. You are going to be a talker just like big sister and who knows where either of you got that from (as I look around sheepishly!). Some words you have been saying...bus, moon, plane, sky, ball (all of these are pointed out when we go for walks or drives in the car!), truck, BIG truck, hi mommy/daddy/didi (Lilly), and bye mommy/daddy/didi, night night-just to name a few.
You are singing a bit more although the words are more gibberish than anything but you clearly sing bup ba bove (up above) line in Twinkle Twinkle. You also know all the motions to wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, and if all the raindrops. You are loving your mini drum set-taking after your daddy there!
You had your school picture taken a few weeks ago. You were SO serious-but kind of adorable too. I guess you are kind of skeptical about the stranger taking your photo.
To celebrate the end of summer we got slurpees and we HAD to get you the mustache straws! (this was pre-haircut by mommy)
Some things you are loving right now: shoes-you like to bring mommy and daddy their shoes and help us put them on. you even like trying on our shoes! You love legos, your dinos, and your toy cars and trucks, bath time, the tickle twins (see video below!), coloring, and being outside. Some dislikes: taking away toys when it's time for bed, sitting still, when mommy leaves you (fine at daycare-not when we are home), getting out of the bath, getting your diaper changed, and did I mention you hate to sit still?! Yes?! Well that's something you REALLY hate. You are just starting to pay attention to books (short ones) and some tv shows-mainly when there is music you like. We have to rewind the Choo Choo Soul features a million times before you loos it signing and saying more more more! And you hate when we stop rewinding your favorite songs.

You have the sweetest and kindest heart (don't get me wrong you can also still be rough at times). The other morning Lilly was having a rough time. We had taken away her blankie and she was upset and asking for it. You went over and grabbed it from the table and handed it to her. We let it happen too-even thought we had said no. He was looking out for his sister and I just found it so endearing. They have to look out for each other!
This month we went to Webers farm. We rode on some rides, ate some apple cider donuts, and you had a blast! You also had fun at the Zaruba Family reunion. We have been enjoying getting outside most evenings-this weather has been beautiful!!!
You were a super huge fan of this ride on duck at the Coast Guard Park where our family reunion was held. I got a pretty good action shot!
You are wearing a size 4 diaper, 18 month clothes (some 12 month pants still), and a size 5 shoe. You are about 22-23 pounds. You just seem like you have grown! Aside from a runny nose and small cough you have been very healthy this month-thank goodness!
You are still VERY active and need to be watched a good amount of the time you are awake. Often I turn my head for one minute and you are climbing on something. You have now learned how to push your small chairs over to things to reach things on the counter. One fun perk is that you have been doing this in the evenings before dinner to wash your hands. As soon as I call that it's time to wash your hands you run over to your little chair and bring it over-some days it's a race with your sister.
This is definitely such a fun age and your daddy and I are enjoying watching your personality come to life and watching you learn, grow and explore the world around you! You can be such a ham!
Happy 17 months baby boy. Next month is the big 1.5! How are you getting to be such a big boy!
