Tommy: 1 point 5

Here we are baby boy-1 and a half.  You are a toddler in every sense of the word.  You are into everything and your favorite activity as of late is pushing your little chair around to climb and reach everything.  We have to be really careful.  I cannot take my eyes off of you especially when I am cooking dinner.  Lilly used to believe us when we told her it was hot.  You seem to want to see for yourself.  I am putting my foot down on that one.

You used to be such a good listener and you still are-you listen and then decide you want to do something anyway and go for it.  The look in your eyes when you know you are doing something wrong is priceless-man sometimes it's hard not to laugh!

I think we are coming up on the terrible twos.  Your tantrums are getting to be more frequent-especially when you don't get your way.  I also think it has to do with your frustration with communicating.  You are definitely talking more and more each day, but you aren't where Lilly was at this age.  Your vocabulary is expanding though.  You say eat, broccoli, birds, bus, truck, car, Lilly, sleeping (seepin), socks ( you love socks and you make sure everyone has their socks-it's pretty adorable), shoes, bubbles, thank you, blanket, and many more that I've already shared...those are just some of the newer ones I can think of.  You also babble much more.  You are so cute when you shake your head yes and no when we ask you questions.  You love to sing songs and dance and you are also getting really good at identifying your body parts.

You love waking your sister up in the morning!  You two are starting to interact and play more together.  One rainy Saturday you guys even spent time playing by yourselves down the basement.  Normally you are coming up after a few minutes looking for mommy.  Your eyes light up when you see her come into the room-I love it!

We have had lots of fun this month with fall hikes and visits to the pumpkin farm.  You loved having free run at the pumpkin patch!  You also got to attend your (and the whole family's) first trunk or treat at your school.  You had a blast!

We celebrated Halloween and you trick or treated for the first time and loved it!  You were THE candy monster.  You want it all!  You didn't want any of the candy to go into your treat bag-you always had to have one piece of candy in each hand.  Even though you took a few more pieces of candy than allowed at a few houses you always said "Thank you"-such a polite gentleman!

You love tattoos.  It's become a Friday pizza night ritual.  I shout-"Who want's a tattoo!"  and you come running saying "Meeeeee!".  You even count (in gibberish) to 30 with me until it's perfectly placed on your arm.

To celebrate your half birthday we took you for your first haircut.  You did SO well.  I was pretty proud-I almost cried.  You didn't sit perfectly still (what 1.5 year old would) but you didn't fuss and you let them use the clippers and scissors and they even styled your hair into a faux hawk.  You looked SO handsome!

Here you are before-looking a little concerned...

During...

And After-HANDSOME....

You have been a decent sleeper as of late.  I say decent only because daylight savings has been an adjustment and you have been waking between 5 and 5:30 lately.  It's getting better though!  You have been enjoying the fall and we have been taking advantage of the weekends and rare early weeknights to enjoy the weather and the leaves!

This month you have been a pretty busy boy.  Having fun outside, celebrating lots of birthdays, and just enjoying being a big boy!

Happy half birthday baby boy!  We love you oh so much.  There is lots of fun to be had coming up.  It's even supposed to snow soon!  Glad I got your snow suit early this year.
