Busting out

Most of you who live in Maryland, the east coast, the entire country know this winter has been COLD!  On top of that we have had several ice storms and snow storms limiting our time outside and sometimes out of the house.  I think we have been pretty lucky because most of the time we are at least able to get out to do indoor activities.  I am sure some people have been stuck inside for much longer stretches.

This past weekend started Thursday and Friday with a snow storm that kept us in (for the most part).  No work and no school.  We played, did some crafts, even had a glow stick bath.  We did even manage to walk to a hill near us and sleigh ride.  Both kids went down once and were done but at least we got out!

Then Sunday things changed.  The sun came out and it was in the 40's- compared to below freezing- it felt like summer!  The fact that it was spring forward we even had more daylight and we were finally able to get out and enjoy some light and fresh air for more than a few seconds.  It was glorious and clearly my kids thought so as well.

We have a family tradition in the spring, summer, and fall (until fall back) that every night after dinner we go outside and play.  On the weekends we sometimes spend our morning and evenings (with naps in between) outdoors.  It felt great to start that again.   Are things warming up where you are!?  I sure hope!
