You are 22 months old. The big 0-2 is right around the corner little man. I think I would be freaking out a bit more if your big sister wasn't turning 4 in 2 weeks! You have her to thank for that (seriously, 4!). This month we had some adventures, some snow days, and some outright boring days (we need to get out of the house!!). You had some pretty exciting firsts (hint it starts with p and ends in otty!).
This month we celebrated Valentine's day. You had a party at school and you gave out your very first Valentines. February 14th we spent starting with a pancake party at Grammy and Gramp's and then we went on a family date to Chopstix (or China as Lilly would say) with Mimi and Pa. You had a blast running around looking at the fish-anything but sitting and eating. Us adults took turns chasing you while the others ate.
We had a few snow days this past month. You definitely do not mind staying home with mommy and we always try to do some fun things and if we are lucky it clears up so we are able to bust out of the house! Art projects are always a fun go to and we even tried a glow stick bath which you loved!
Of course playing in the snow is a given and you went sleigh riding for the very first time.
You helped mommy celebrate her 33rd birthday! We had a crazy snow storm the day of my party but we celebrated anyway.
Of course what is winter without a few trips per month to Jump on it!
You and Lilly participated in your first Home Depot workshop-You had a blast and I was impressed at how well you concentrated and finished your project. You even hammered your nails (with help from Pa). You made baseball bookends!
You are such a helpful little guy. You love helping mommy clean and some times you blow me away by how kind you are. Lilly was begging me for a stool to turn on the light down the basement and you went upstairs to get the bathroom stool and carried all the way down for Lilly-what a thoughtful and kind little brother you are! I hope you are always so kind hearted.
You are also so very full of energy and you can be a funny little bugger at times too!
Eating is an activity you do constantly. We have to be really careful what we leave out because if you see food or hear food being opened you are there asking for a nack (snack). Some of your favorites right now are pancakes (cancakes), raisins, egg noodles with butter, and broccoli.
You are talking up a storm now saying full blown sentences. Some of my favorites are "what you doing?" "Where's (name)", and "there it is!".
We hit a pretty big milestone/first this month too-you went on the potty!!! Let me say that we are not super close to full blown potty training but you ask to go, tell us when you poop and pee, and have gone a handful of times on the potty with mommy or daddy's help. We are so proud of you and I think you are going to be ready before we think!
You are inching quickly into being out of 18 month clothing and are wearing some 24 month/2T items. You are wearing a size 5 diaper and 6 wide shoe. I feel like you look bigger to me with each passing day. I don't know your weight officially but if I had to guess it would be 24-25 lbs?
Some of your favorite things to do right now are: take baths (sometimes we do them just for fun on snow days), eat, play with your dinosaurs-you love to build towers with the blocks and then destroy them with your dino's, color and draw, and you love being chased by daddy!
Tommy-you are growing up before our eyes. You make us laugh every day and you sure do keep us busy. You are like a sponge and sometimes I don't give you enough credit for what you can do and the concepts you have already mastered. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that you are determined to do whatever your big sister does! You have the sweetest heart and I love getting a big hug from you every day! Happy 22 months!
