It's been a tradition now, since my kids were born, that I take the day off of work on their birthdays. We plan a fun day and just spend some time celebrating. I know once they get to Kindergarten this probably will stop (Lilly only has 1 more birthday until she's there!!) but for now I am going to enjoy this time. Birthdays are a big deal in our house. We decorate, wave the birthday flag (literally), and enjoy the all day affair. This year we had planned to take Lilly to the zoo but the weather had other plans.
On March 25th, Lilly awoke to a balloon filled room and a wall of streamers in her doorway, a tradition I began on her 1st birthday.
She came down to her pile of gifts and it was so fun watching her open the Barbie she has been asking for for months now.
She also got to peak at her Ariel birthday cake she requested topped with purple frosting!
As I said before, the plan was to go to the zoo but on our way there it started raining. We changed the plans and ended up at Port Discovery in Baltimore. The kids had fun and we even walked around the inner harbor for a bit.
Both kids slept on the way home and we even extended the drive to allow them more time. When we got home we only had a little time before our family would be coming for a birthday dinner and dessert. Lilly was showered with more presents and attention! She was certainly spoiled-what a lucky girl.
Check out that cake! YUM!
Lilly had a blast! We had such a fun time celebrating!
