Where do I even begin!? So I can keep it all straight I think I will need to do a separate post for each exciting moment! This weekend was a whirlwind and I am just now beginning to wind down after all of the excitement. Let me start from when it all began...
One of the photographers that I follow and am a huge fan of, announced that she was having a contest to win a FREE newborn photo session. Immediately, I entered our name. I was so excited to have a chance to get beautiful pictures for the baby and not worry about spending the money especially since we just had to purchase a new washer and dryer so there went a large chunk of change. Having these photos is a luxury that we just couldn't afford at this time but what a wonderful opportunity. The voting began last week and I made sure that everyone I knew was voting! I was determined to win...and guess what....I DID! Of course I cannot take all of the credit. Without all of my friends and family voting I would have never walked away with almost 50% of the votes!! The voting ended this past friday (2/18) and on Thursday evening I had almost forgotten about the contest until I got into work Friday morning and checked The Lovely Photo by Jewell's Blog.
I was so excited I didn't know how I could even get any work done. After dancing around for a bit and calling Tommy to tell him the exciting news I was finally able to get down to business. Little did I know what else was in store for me that day that would virtually lead me to be pretty unproductive-thank goodness it was Friday.
That day at work we also had a dessert social planned. I had made my awesome trifle and was excited to basically eat dessert for lunch. A co-worker of mine and I had a meeting scheduled right beforehand and when 12 noon hit we excitedly gathered our desserts and headed to the conference room to stuff our faces with yummy goodies. I opened the door to "SURPRISE!". My co-workers had thrown me a baby shower! Not only did we have tons of desserts (including my own!) there were also great snacks and sandwiches so I didn't feel so bad about eating two helpings of dessert after. It was great and I even got a few great gifts including some awesome home made gifts-which are always so nice to get!
Needless to say after the second round of excitement (and potential sugar high) work was basically not going to get done...well at least the hard stuff. So the rest of the afternoon was spend doing e-mails since those didn't require too much thinking and I think all of the sugar turned me into a super typer!
Here are a few pictures from the shower:
