The end to the perfect weekend

Ahh the last year of my twenties is now ahead of me and what a year it will be!  My best gift is yet to come but my husband certainly helped make my day very special.  I was wiped after my shower but I was still pretty hyped and even though I didn't stagger into bed until 1:30am, I was up and at 'em at 7am.  I am crazy.

My husband did all of the cleaning and cooking in preparation for our family he had invited over to have dinner and dessert to celebrate my 29th year in this world!  Before our guests arrived my husband and I snuggled on the couch to finally watch our wedding video.  It was one of the BEST gifts I could have received for my shower/birthday.  My cousins Megan and Margaret were my videographers and I couldn't have PAID to have someone do as well as they did.  I was VERY impressed.  It was so personal and was worth the wait!   It was fun to relax and re-cap the shower from the day before!  The video is over an hour and I wish I could share every second of it.  Here is a clip for your viewing pleasure:

The Prologue

It truly was a great ending to a spectacular weekend.  Again I just cannot get over how lucky I am.  I got a few treats I have been swooning over including a Pandora bracelet from the hubby.  Here are a few shots to end my Best Weekend Ever trilogy:

My new Ikea bookshelf!  Thanks Kristie!

 Wahoo!  Kindle!!! Thanks McGrains
 Loving me some jewelry!
 Kelly!
The birthday card from Tommy...guessing there wasn't much of a selection! ;)
 Thanks Tommy!  Love my bracelet!

All of the excitement was tiring but so fun!  I also can't forget that this past weekend marked Clarence's 36th week!  Next week I will be full term.  Hopefully Clarence will stay in there until all of the nesting is complete. We are working on it.  My to do list has actually gown!!!  Here is my old To-Do list with the new additions...looking to cross some things off in the up coming weeks:
  • Re-paint the baby's room
Here is a before and after shot!
Before:  Ugly Yellow that we thought we liked:
And now it's a beautiful taupe:

We used Behr Classic Taupe which is funny because I've decided that Classic is going to be our nursery 'theme' so what a perfect paint color  I am not big on THEMES per say.  Some people have them and it's just too much matchy match.  We're just keeping it simple and classic with classic pooh, peter rabbit, etc.  Once we get it all together I will post final pictures so these will be the last peak until it's all done!

Here's a peak into Clarence's closet with some of the goodies from our shower. Can you tell we are Team Green!?

  • Baby shower
  • purchase anything we still need for when the baby arrives-will be shopping with mom this weekend when she brings over the rest of the gifts.  We are so lucky most of our large stuff was purchased!  The only things we need now are the dresser/changer, and a swing.  I think we are going to borrow a swing though so that will help a lot!  The rest are just small things like: plain onsies, nursing items, a few more nb sleepers/outfits, bottles, size 1 diapers, Ergo carrier, sheets, grooming/first aid kit, cloth diapers, baby gates, my diaper bag, and possibly a rocker/glider..the list is pretty long but mostly small things. With some returns and gift cards we pretty much got it covered!
  • Meet with the pediatrician (scheduled for February 2nd!!)
  • Get new tires on the civic (in case of snow on D day!)
  • Make and freeze some meals/stock up at BJ's
  • Create/finalize our birth plan
  • Pack bag for the hospital
  • Finish the nursery
And the additions:
  • go through gifts and sort out duplicates for returns- we've done half of this...half of our gifts are still at my moms
  • create shopping list for final necessities
  • install car seat and get it inspected
  • write Thank you's
  • set up newborn photo shoot
  • clean my old hamper
  • set up furniture/decorate nursery
  • clean out car
  • finish last minute packing and bag for Tommy (make list in case it doesn't get done before it's time so I can pack without forgetting anything)
  • research baptism info (ok we're late on this one I know...)
  • purchase washer and dryer
  • finish basement cleaning/organizing
So I am pretty sure that's most of it.  Luckily in the coming weeks I have free weekends to work on everything and Tommy will also have some time to work on some things.  We've been late on many tasks but I think we will be just fine.  My parents are coming over this weekend to help set some things up and my mom and I plan to do some shopping which I think she may be looking forward to even more so than me!  I am also looking forward to getting our new washer and dryer tomorrow so I can do some laundry and start washing some of the babies things.  I don't think I have ever been this excited to do laundry!  :)

Last but not least, here is my official weekly bump shot at 36 weeks:
We are getting so close!

  1. I made a list of things that both my husband and I would need and put it on the fridge just in case I went into labor and we didn't have anything packed. It was very helpful.
