Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you daddy's out there!

This year Tommy and I both were able to celebrate our first Mother's Day and now our first Father's Day.  We were blessed in March with our beautiful Lillian Grace and couldn't be happier.  Lilly has brought so much joy to our lives each and every day and today I want to wish my husband a VERY special  first Father's Day.  He's been a wonderful Daddy since day 1.  He was the first to hold Lilly and he introduced me to our beautiful little girl.  I was overwhelmed with joy as I saw the love in his eyes (along with a little tear) as he looked at our little girl with so much joy and love.  From that moment I was more in love with him than ever-and I didn't think that was possible.  One of the million bajillion reasons I married Tommy was because I just KNEW he was going to be an awesome daddy and that moment was one that just assured me that was in fact true.  Here she was our little miracle-we were parents!  Our whole lives we have been waiting for this moment it seemed.

From the moment she was born Tommy was a doting Daddy.  Since I was recovering from major surgery Tommy was the one who changed her first diaper, he learned to swaddle like no other, and I even had to argue with him to let me hold her at times while we were in the hospital.  Since then Tommy has made her smile, laugh, rocked her to sleep, and I've watched him love her more and more each day.  How lucky this little girl is.  Now I am preparing to return to work tomorrow and Tommy will be the one who snuggles with Lilly for her nap.  While I am a bit sad it won't be me anymore-I am so glad it will be him.  She is Daddy's little girl.

Happy Father's Day Tommy!  Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and daddy.  Lilly and I love you so much!

I also want to take the time to shout out to all the other fathers in our lives-

My dad-who gave me his good looks ;)  Many people tell me how much I look like my mom (and I definitely do) but I also think I look like my dad a lot as well-he gave me my dimple on my chin and his eyes-Love you Dad!

My Father-in-law-who taught my husband how to be a great dad and I thank him for that!  This picture is funny because we were laughing at how his eyes are always halfway shut in pictures!

I also want to wish my Pop, Brother in laws- Rob and Frank, and all of our uncles and cousins a Happy Father's Day-did we miss anyone!?  I hope that covers it!  We also remember those dad's who are looking down on us from heaven-you started it all!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  Lilly has a few surprises for her Daddy today!  Stay tuned for a follow up post-we have a special day planned for Tommy's first Father's Day!
