I hope everyone is staying safe and dry. Here in Harford County, MD it's pretty much just raining but it looks as if the brunt of the storm will be coming in over night. We have heard our sump pump come on once so we at least know that is working although if the power goes out, like they say it should, then we will have to keep an eye on the basement. For now we are snuggled on the couch with some wine enjoying a relaxing evening. Today turned out to be a very fun day. I was kicking myself for not taking my camera out with me. I thought we were just running out for a few items so I didn't even grab the point and shoot so I had to settle for phone pictures.
We started the morning off bumming around the house. I made some Green Beans for Lilly and cleaned up the kitchen. We have been wanting to check out a high end consignment shop in downtown Bel Air so we decided to check it out before Irene made her appearance. We also needed something at Home Depot (don't even ask it was some sort of pipe fitting???) and we figured while we were out we would pick up some beer and wine to have-an essential to anyone's hurricane survival kit. We ended up finding a lot of the things we were looking for at the consignment shop so it was a success and I am definitely going back there again. Tommy's parents met us at the shop and then we went to Home Depot. We were just planning to go home when-I think it was Tommy's mom-suggested that we go to Brooms Bloom Dairy for lunch. Brooms Bloom is a local Dairy in Bel Air and they have awesome ice cream we were told. Tommy and I have been wanting to go ever since we moved out here but just had never gotten around to it. It was yummy! I got some crab soup and it was definitely some of the best I ever had. I also had and an awesome grilled cheese made with cheese made right there at the dairy farm.
We got an ice cream with our meal and it WAS awesome. I got Dirt-yes Dirt. It actually tasted like Dirt and I don't mean dirt from the ground I mean the dessert-the whipped cream, pudding, Oreo concoction. It was yummy! Lilly even wanted in on the action.
She had so much fun and even tried out sitting in her own chair for the first time! She looks like a big kid!
When we got home we finished cleaning and then put together Lilly's high chair. She loves it and even tried Green Beans for the first time and tried out her cup. She didn't quite get the cup-she mainly used it as a teether but we will keep practicing!
I was then finally able to take Lilly's 5 month pictures. Here they are-we even have some with Irene!
Lilly and Irene!
The rain is starting to come down harder now! Off to stick my head outside to check things out!
