Sick Day

May.  MAY!!!  It's MAY people!!!  Where is the time going?  *SIGH*  Yesterday we got to slow down a bit.  Lilly woke up in the middle of the night and when I went to get her she was burning up.  Her temperature was 102.8!  She's never had a fever before and I immediately called my mom-because that's what you do when you are sick right?  Mom, Grammy, thought I should call the doctor and of course he told me what my mom did-give her Tylenol and keep an eye on her.   By far I have discovered this is, so far, the WORST thing about being a parent.  Sick babes.  We felt helpless.  She was showing no signs of sickness other than the fever and we were happy when the medicine started working.  She slept the rest of the night but woke up to a fever.  I couldn't take her to day care (obviously) and I wanted to make sure my babe was ok so I called in sick to and made an appointment for the doctor.   We couldn't get an appointment until 3:15 so we bummed around and rested all morning.  The crazy thing was Lilly wasn't acting ill.  In fact, she was her regular happy self-especially when she was on the pain medicine.  Here is Lilly during lunch:

Doesn't look too sick does she?  She even had some energy to clean the house...

And took some time to conduct her own symphony-she kept pressing the burner and when it would play the annoying song..she would wave her pointers around like she was conducting!  My little musician.  And to those who know the song sing with me..."stirring up some soup that's full of ABC's..."

I can assure you though that most of the day was spent napping and snuggling and making sure my little bugger was comfortable and for the most part she was very snugly!  When we went to the doctor she still had a fever and after checking her out he noticed her throat was a bit swollen so he did a strep test.  She did NOT like that and actually threw up her animal cracker she ate in the waiting room all over the floor.  Poor baby- after all that it came back negative which indicated a possible virus OR basically we don't know what's wrong with her.  She spent today with Mimi and Pa since she has to be fever free for 24 hours before going back to day care. Her fever has subsided and she's doing MUCH better.  Maybe it's just teething?!  Who knows.  I think the scariest thing is that you never really know!  I hope she's feeling better so we can take our Saturday trip to BJ's and Wegmans while daddy sleeps in (he won't get home until 3am from his gig!).  And my GOODNESS how cute is this face-Fever and all!
