Lilly is getting into things more these day especially since she has discovered what climbing can do! She's all over the place these days and while it's fun-it's also exhausting. I feel like I've run a marathon just after one evening out to dinner with her. She still plays so well and still is a book lover (yeah!). She also loves her TB (TV) and we have really tried to limit tv watching to mornings during the week, breakfast on the weekends, and during times of desperation (like the recent no nap weekend when mommy just needed 30 minutes to clean the kitchen!). Other than that she's either at school or we are running errands or having family time.
This month Lilly had a ball and celebrated two holidays! The first was Halloween. Lilly dressed up as an owl. I was so impressed by her excitement to get candy. She really 'got it'. She had a blast and I've already had a taste of a renewed sense of spirit during holidays as now I am seeing it through the eyes of my child-it's so much better!
She also just celebrated Thanksgiving just last week! Lilly had a blast hanging out with family and eating lots of goodies-especially yummy pie and cookies. I think her favorite part of Thanksgiving was chowing down two helpings of my grandmother's homemade applesauce-yum!
Uh Ma? There's a Turkey on my head!
Lilly also celebrated Election Day by voting at Forest Hill Elementary with Mommy and Daddy!
A few weeks ago we were trying to find something fun to do to get out of the house and we discovered that the second largest waterfall in MD was right in our backyard. We decided to hike to Kilgore falls. Lilly had fun and it was a nice and easy trail for a family hike!
This photo is priceless and I am so glad I didn't delete it right away. I was snapping shots of Lilly on this rock and Tommy walked in front of the shot. I love her expression!
It was a fun outing and Lilly had fun on her first hike!
I think somewhere between 18 months and now Lilly has had a growth spurt. Overnight her size 5 shoes didn't fit. Luckily I had snatched up a pair of 5.5's on super sale at Stride Rite so I had a pair on hand. She's also pretty much full into 24 month clothes and only a handful of 18 month pieces (mostly tunics). Since there is no difference really between 24 months and 2T other than length I have been trying to get mostly 2T for winter and spring so they last a bit longer. She's in 24 month PJ's, pants, and some tops and mostly 2T in tee shirts. I don't have official weight and height and really probably won't until her 2 year check up (which is only 4 months away!!!) unless we need to go to the docs for an illness. My little girl is getting so big!
Sweet Lilly Grace. I am in awe daily of you. You are so sweet, kind, funny, and just a great kid. Your personality is HUGE just like your smile. You have lots of energy and even though there are days mommy and daddy are tired out-we love you and don't ever want you to stop! We are so excited that in 2013 you are going to be a BIG SISTER! You are going to be a great one and I already know you two are going to be buds. Mommy and Daddy love you so so much Lilly Grace! Happy 20 months!
