The amulet

Lately Lilly has had one big imagination.  After seeing the previews for the new Sophia the First one of her new 'games' is that she looks for her amulet, just like Sophia does.  She was going around the house looking for it telling me that she "won't be able to talk to the aminals".  It was adorable but she seemed really concerned that couldn't find it.  I know Target has Sophia toys now and I thought I remembered seeing the amulet.  So I had the idea to pick it up for her as a surprise.

Since today was a rainy day and I needed diapers anyway, I ventured out to Target.  When I got to the Sophia display I was disappointed that most of it was sold out.  But there it was, one last amulet.  Perfect.  I snuck it into the cart and we were off.  

When we got home we had lunch and settled down for a nap.  Once she was asleep I opened the box and laid it out on our coffee table.  I am pretty sure I will always remember the look on her face when she 'found' her amulet.  She came down from her nap like every day and I just let her discover it.  When she saw it she held it for a minute and looked at me.  I asked her what it was and she just said excitedly: "my amulet!"

She's now sitting and watching the new episode...the one where Sophia looses her amulet.  She was so excited to have an amulet just like Sophia.  I am beaming.  A perfect thing for a rainy Friday!
