I am late to the game I know. One of my goals for 2014 is to get better (again) with blogging. I kind of fell off the bandwagon after Tommy was born. I am even slacking on my monthly baby updates!
Our 2013 Christmas was magical. I had some much needed time off between Christmas and New Years and got to spend some time with my kids and family. It's true that the holidays are just more magical with children. Here are some of my favorite moments from our holiday...
Christmas eve we don't really have any set traditions but we started one this year. We had our friends over for Christmas eve PJ breakfast (since we all agreed we didn't feel like getting dressed that early). It was so fun! We hung out most of the day and relaxed and did a bit of cleaning in preparation for Santa. We had a family dinner just us and then drove around looking at some Christmas lights before coming home to tuck in to bed so Santa could arrive!
Christmas day was busy. We spent the morning at our house and then packed up and went to my parents and then Tommy's parents. We nixed the Christmas outfits and decided that since we couldn't stay home we were going to keep the kids in PJ's! It was fun, the kids got way too much stuff, and we were tired after and the kids were too. Next year we decided that we are going to swap and doing all of our visiting on Christmas Eve and then stay home on Christmas day so we can marvel in the magic and enjoy our kids playing with their toys from Santa. We did have a wonderful day!
We had a wonderful day! I love Lilly's smiles. She was happy all day! Tommy just liked the wrapping paper more than anything else! While we have been clearing out all traces of Christmas (thank goodness the recycling truck finally came!) it's so fun to see the kids enjoying their new toys and I have to say it feels good to purge some of our old stuff too and get organized (another New Year goal!).
