My baby is growing up!

We are 2 days post the 3rd birthday and we have survived.  I didn't cry but I came close, especially when my brave little girl got her ears pierced!  I took the day off because I love having the day to spend with her-it's a celebration for us as parents too!

Lilly started off her morning coming through her wall of balloons!  I admit this is a Pinterest idea and one of my favorites.  The first thing she asked though was:  "Did the elf do it mommy?".  We didn't want the elf to be an every holiday thing so we told her Mommy and Daddy did it.

She had her 3 year well check first thing in the morning and she did great!  She is officially 32 lbs and 37 1/4 inches-she's in the 75th percentile for both weight and height.  She also had a hearing and vision test but the nurse did say she was a little too young to get official results-she didn't take it seriously.  The best part was when she looked at me and just started saying her shapes "Oval!  Square!" but there have been no concerns with her vision or hearing (although listening is another thing!) so we will see how it goes next year.

Since it was just us two (Tommy went to school for the morning) we ran a few errands and stopped at the Disney store (according to Lilly it was Disney World!).  Everything FROZEN was pretty much gone!  We had a few things to exchange for size and duplicates so she had fun picking out a few items.  She chose a Lion King tee shirt, an Anna bowl, and a Tangled bathing suit.  She loves shopping and even requested Merida's bow and arrow for her next birthday-"Maybe Santa can bring it for me mommy!".  This kid!

After the Disney store we went to pick up Tommy and met Daddy for lunch at Red Robin-yum!  Lilly really enjoyed having a sundae for dessert!

Little Tommy had fun too and ate his weight in mandarin oranges!

After lunch we took Lilly to get her ears pierced.  She has been asking to get earrings for a while now so we decided to go for it.  Our plan was just to take her and see how things go and not force it.  She was pumped.  She picked out her earrings-she chose her birthstone mainly because they were Queen Elsa diamonds (aquamarine) and sat on Daddy's lap.  We had both ears done at once which was the BEST idea because we probably would have only had one ear done if not.  She seemed a bit nervous before it happened and she did fuss a bit after-she said it was the loud noise that scared her.  She only cried for a minute and then was eating her lolly pop and telling everyone that she passed in the mall that she got her ears pierced-she was so happy!

After our fun day we headed home and both kids napped hard!  We had a fun day!  While they napped we prepared dinner and decorated yet another cake-this one with chocolate mousse filling yum!  We invited the grandparents for dinner and dessert but just Tommy's parents came since my mom had been sick.  We certainly missed her!  We had a fun evening and opened more presents and sang happy birthday.  Lilly loved all of her gifts, especially her piggy bank.  She sat for a while just putting in her money!

We had such a fun day.  I still cannot believe she is 3!
