Remember those times I posted about how in shape I planned to be post baby? I am not even going to share the links to them because 1. I don't feel like looking for them and 2. It's just embarrassing how I preached and didn't practice! I somewhat followed through with things but never really got there. And then baby #2 was on his way and arrived and well the rest is history. Since having both of my babies I have gained roughly 40-50 pounds. I was 145 according to my Wii Fit last log in which was right before I found out I was having Lilly. I was 135 the year before when I got married. I've lost some and gained some back here and there over the past 4 years and 2 (beautiful) babies.
This is me a little over a year ago-the day after I came home from the hospital with Tommy (I know I know I had just had a baby but I didn't loose much after this (maybe 10 pounds) and it's been my point of reference)
Well I am happy to report that I am on my way to feeling like myself again. I have lost, since January, the weight I put on with Tommy plus a little more. I have lost 20 pounds since January and about 30 overall since having Tommy. I have gone through 3 pants sizes and one shirt size in that time frame and that sure does make me feel like I have accomplished something!
Here I am just a few weeks over a year from the picture above (again with my beautiful children! Look at how they have grown!)
How did I do it? Well working out wasn't an option (for me) with a 2 year old and newborn and it took us almost a whole year to get in a groove. We try to walk a lot in the evenings since it's been nice out and we are very active on the weekends. We started a modified Paelo diet in January and I have never felt better and the weight just fell off!
Right now I am sort of at a standstill and I have to admit I haven't been as strict as I have been over the last 4 months but with summer here and some new beginnings around the corner I am back on track and have set new goals. I am hoping by the end of June to have lost 5 more pounds and by August (Tommy's baptism) I am hoping to have lost 10 more (15 total) which will put me at pre-Lilly weight!
I had always imagined being one of those people who just lost the baby weight and looked fabulous again but that wasn't the case. Sure I had some control over that but it was a lot harder than I thought it would be-and of course breast feeding didn't help-if anything it gave me an excuse to eat!
I am hoping now that Tommy's sleep is more predictable and with the added time from my new job and new commute I will be able to
get back in to a work out routine so i can shed the last few pounds and actually get in shape. My goal is to get in at least 3
workouts a week starting in July.
Again, here I am putting it all out there in hopes that documenting it will hold me accountable and push me over this speed bump. I feel great and am looking forward to being even healthier so I can outlast my kids energy-they have a lot of it! I will post an update next Friday (Fit Fridays anyone?!) but since I started this post I am down another 2 pounds....3 more to go to reach my goal!
you look awesome good luck! I need to do the same, I have about 15 lbs I need to loose and I really need to get in a good work out routine.
