Original recipe found here-al-a Pinterest
I have tried MANY home made Chinese dishes including fried rice that just don't match that of carry out. Sure, they have been tasty, most just end up being too salty (crock pot recipes mainly) and none have ever come out like the picture shown or were as expected. GOOD Chinese take out just seemed impossible to recreate. We have come close with the fried rice and have made some great versions but THIS recipe is it. It was BETTER than take out. Actually it was pretty darn close, if not better, than the quality you would get at Pei Wei and PF Changs (and I love me some Pei Wei). I am counting down the days until I make it again (it's already on my meal plan in two weeks!). Now if only I could recreate the fried crab won-tons from Pei Wei then I would be set (and probably not loose any more weight!)
Try this recipe now! I followed it exact and it was pretty perfect. Some advice: there are some steps to this recipe-not hard steps though. Make sure you read through the recipe first and I would suggest measuring everything ahead of time so it will be easier. To make it even easier I used the Uncle Ben's 90 second Jasmine rice packs (3 for 2 adults and 2 small children-enough for dinners and to have leftovers) and I steamed a side of broccoli to go with the dish. It was so good even my crazy three year old ate every.single.bite!
Try it this weekend-I guarantee it will be added to your meal rotation.
